OUR STORY

Welcome to Sangre de Cristo Vintage! SDCV is a fashion forward vintage clothing shop that celebrates the symbiosis of history and modernity. Named after the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Santa Fe, each look and collection is inspired by the beauty of New Mexico by mixing in a southwestern flair.

These are authentic vintage statement pieces with soul.

Every piece has a story and history to be shared with the wearer. Clothing is inspected for quality, repaired if need be (or if possible), and cleaned prior to shipping out. Any wear, flaws, or fading is noted in the listings. SDCV original clothing and more jewelry designs are also being developed. So stay tuned!

A little bit about me: I have gravitated towards vintage and historical clothing since childhood. My mother was an antique dealer and while she would scour thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets, and auctions for furniture, I was mesmerized by secondhand clothing. I noticed that fashion has a transformative quality, is an instant mood lifter, and it gives spirit to everyday life. Growing up in this environment and being influenced by my stylish, artistic, resourceful mother has developed my eye for discerning high quality textiles, character, taste, and construction of clothing.

After hopping around to different design schools in New York, Paris, and Colorado, I gained professional experience in fashion design, costume construction for the Santa Fe Opera, odd jobs for films, and tailoring throughout my twenties. However, I felt ethically and spiritually at odds with participating in the fashion industry. Specifically, the endless high pressure cycle of fast fashion, lack of sustainability and humanitarianism, and distortion of body image.

With this in mind, Sangre de Cristo Vintage was born out of a need in my personal closet to sell the hoards of vintage clothing that I have accumulated since my high school years. It was time to let go of these pieces and allow others to enjoy them. Which prompted the idea, I ought to turn this vice into a business.

Fashion is cyclical and heavily inspired by trends from previous decades. Instead of creating new clothing, I am excited to sell the "real vintage thing", which is intrinsically sustainable, supports other local small businesses, has superior construction quality to most contemporary garments, and is fun to share with you!

Please enjoy browsing the selections and let me know if you have any questions. Being addicted to my phone, I try my best to respond to inquiries as quickly as possible. I won't leave you hanging...unless if you are spam or a marketer, then I will!
